On June 12, 2018, at about 10:40 p.m., an officer with the Eureka Police Department was conducting routine patrol checks when he observed a felony warrant suspect in the driver seat of a vehicle parked at a gas station on the 100 block of West Harris Street. The warrant suspect was 28 year old Daniel Langevin.

Upon contact, Langevin exited the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer gave chase and caught up with Langevin at the 3100 block of Pine Street. As the officer attempted to take Langevin into custody, Langevin violently resisted, causing items of the officer’s equipment to detach from his person, including his portable radio.

Backup officers responded and began checking the area of the officers last known location, based on his prior radio transmissions. Within moments, backup officers located the officer still struggling with Langevin in the front yard of a residence. Officers were quickly able to overcome Langevin’s resistance and take him into custody without further incident.

Langevin was transported by ambulance to the hospital for precautionary medical clearance, prior to being booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility. Langevin was booked on charges of resisting arrest and the felony no bail probation warrant.
