This service contract consists of hauling and disposal of dewatered sludge from the Elk River Waste Water Treatment Plant for two years. The plant is continually dewatering sludge with a centrifuge and stockpiling the material in a covered storage facility. The City will load the sludge into truck/trailers using a loader, to be hauled off and disposed of at an appropriate disposal location by the successful bidder.
Two “seasons” for disposal are identified; the “dry season” which is mid-April to the end of October and the “wet season which is November through the beginning of April. The intent of breaking up the year into seasons is to allow for production of biosolids to be increased during the dry season when the material can be land applied at a reduced cost to the City.
A pre-project meeting is scheduled for Jul 21, 2020 - 10:30 am
