Eureka is seeking a Personnel Director

The Personnel Director must possess the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and to successfully interact with a wide variety of individuals.

The successful candidate will possess positive interpersonal skills and a large and well-rounded Personnel knowledge base, including an effective network of applicable resources.

Desired Education and Experience:

Education:  Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration, Personnel Management, or a closely related field.

Experience:  Seven or more years of experience in professional personnel management and labor relations with a public agency, some risk management experience, and considerable supervisory experience.

The Personnel Director's current annual salary is $89,640, and implementation of a recently completed classification/compensation study is expected soon.  The new Personnel Director's salary, based on the successful candidate's qualifications, will be negotiable within the applicable salary range.  The City's generous benefits package includes:

  • Retirement PERS 2.7 at 55 Plan

  • Seventy-two hours Executive Leave
