Councilmember Chris Kerrigan to sponsor “Clean Up the Park Day”

Eureka City Councilmember Chris Kerrigan will host a Clean Up the Park Day and barbecue at Sequoia Park on Saturday, June 24, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The event will be followed by a free community barbecue for those participating. The public is invited to participate by volunteering to help groom trails and remove debris and trash. Volunteers can register ahead of time by calling 441-4144, or by just showing up at the event.

“It is important we give back to our community, and this will be a fun event and a great opportunity to spruce up Sequoia Park for the citizens of Eureka,” Kerrigan said.

The event will coincide with the Sequoia Winter Storm tree damage removal project, which is slated to begin later this month. The event is run by the city’s Adopt a Park Program. For more information about this event or the Adopt a Park Program call 441-4144, or visit
